These images began as a record of the endless moments of overlap and collisions that occur within my studio as objects get arranged and rearranged to make room for new work. Textures, forms and colors are momentarily fused together by the changing light and shadows that transform the space throughout the day. Born out of chance and necessity, these fleeting hybrids often reveal something unexpected about the work and present new possibilities of seeing and making.
By digitally editing and enhancing these images, I want to further reinterpret the familiar objects that inhabit my studio. Artificial colors result from the meshing of multiplied, overlaid, divided and subtracted layers of pixels. These images are filtered and distorted representations that can only be produced within a digital space.
